New Resin Review [VIDEO]

What's up YouTube art lovers? And I grabbed a glove that was busted. Well, I'll just grab another one.

Today, as you can probably tell by the title, we're doing a product review. And I had a company send me some resin to try out. And the name of that resin is by Better Boat, and it's epoxy resin. They just sent me a little eight ounce kit, came in two of those bottles and it came with an instruction pamphlet. And I put a little bit of the clear down on my board. And you can see that I ... primed the board. I normally don't prime my boards, but I felt a little crazy. So, today we prime the board.

And today we're using Midnight Black by The Color Cottage. I'm using Reflex Violet by Pearl X. I'm using Amazing Brilliant White by Flo Art Resin. And I'm using Apricot by PBO. This is Fantasy Moon. And I'm just going to ... I'm going to do a bit of a dirty pour. I haven't done the dirty pour in a long time. So, that's my ... That's my thinking. That's what I'm going to do.

So, we're going to pour some of that in there. I'm going to pour some of that in there. I don't know how it's going to turn out. We're really just testing the resin and I can tell you that the resin has no smell, which is pretty cool, because you don't really want a stinky resin. At least I don't. You may want to stinky resin. I don't.

And I'm just pouring this in here so we can get the cup full of colors. This white was also sent to me as a review. They sent me resin also, which you can go back and look at the video. I did a video with their colors and their resin and this is the company that also makes this Pearl X that I'm using ... which I love. I love that Reflex Violet.

All right. All right. We got it in the cup. We're going to go ahead and see what we get. No rhyme or reason. Let's just dump it on. Wow. That's pretty cool. That white seems to go straight to the bottom.

Now, I'm not one to really do tilts and everything like that, but I think on this one just to get it around we may have to. So, I'm going to grab it and do some tilting on it. Sorry that you can't see this right now. I'm just trying to get it around so we can get us a finished product here. Wow, it's pretty. Try and get this whole thing covered. And we'll get this last corner and then ... Let's get some of this back towards the center. We'll put a little heat to it.

Let me change my gloves, because I don't want to get resin over everything, because resin is very, very sticky. I can go ahead and apply some heat.

Wow, that's really cool.

And the heat ... You know, heat sometimes makes it do amazing thing. Sometimes it doesn't. But I believe with that white in there and that PBO, I think that's really bringing out some cells. Look at that. Kind of looks like a galaxy. You know, you guys see me all the time. I go and I do something and it's like I don't like it. I keep changing it. I keep doing something. I like this one right off the bat. I don't really see anything that I'm going to do to it. Get these corners covered.

This is really ... I really like it. And that for me is amazing, because I don't like any of my pieces right off the bat. I always have to play with them and mess with them.

This is awesome. Wow. That is very rare for me. I can't tell you when I've ever really ... ever really liked a piece that's right from the get. There's a spider that's going to try to get in my painting. And he's done. Well.

I am ... I really, really like it. I really like it.

I like it so much I'm afraid to mess with it, because I don't want it to change. Normally, you see me, oh, we're going to do this, we're going to add this, we're going to spray it. I'm done with this one.

And again, this is Better Boat epoxy resin. This is a eight ounce kit that they sent me to try out. And it mixed real well. I don't have no complaints about the way it mixed in the cup. There's no smell to it. Says it dries crystal clear and hard. It's boat resin, so boat resin, commercial use resins are generally tough. And this, I like it. I really do like it, so I don't have any complaints about it, for sure.

Huh? That's funny. The one I like, everybody else will probably hate. And when I don't like them everybody else is like, Oh man, that's beautiful. That's nice. I really like that. And I'm like, "Man, that's garbage." And now I see one. Wow, I really like that. Everybody else will be like, "Man that's garbage. What's wrong with you? You no-talent hack."

All right, well this is going to be a short video, because I never really had one turnout like this that I just liked right off the bat. So, I guess I'm just going to give you guys a closeup of it and we're going to be done, because this just turned out awesome right off the bat. And I really like those colors.

I think a cross between that PBO and that white, that white seemed really heavy and it dropped to the bottom of the cup right when I was pouring it in and I really believe it reacted with the heat a lot more. And I think that PBO ... The PBO Moon always does stuff on its own anyway, so you're going to get those effects just in itself and man, it looks really cool.

All right guys, let me grab the camera and I'll give you guys a closeup.

All right, and you're going to have to forgive my camera skills or I should say my lack thereof. I'm out of focus. It really has some cool stuff in it. It looks kind of like a galaxy, to me anyway. Let me know what you guys think. Does it look like a galaxy to you? Or like a ... I don't know. It kind of has this space look to me or a planet or something. You guys let me ... There's the heat kicking on.
